Monkey to a monk!
A journey from the womb,
through faeces and waste,
an infant soaked in blood,
crawled in dirt and filth,
innocently crying for food,
a toddler, now reached boyhood,
The childhood days of ,
accumulating pebbles and shells,
playing in the mud and sand,
running behind the butterflies,
watching the birds and the sky,
a careless world of animal,
surviving only on instincts,
He is a 'shudra' by birth!
Vagabond traveller,
seeking adventure in youth,
knowing it to be the ultimate truth,
mistaking peace to pleasure,
collecting wealth and treasure,
with arrogance and pride.
Every relation is a business,
every business a gamble.
work his passion,
for reaching out his vanity,
sip wine,
slip into the arms of lust,
work is worship in leisure
earn wealth for pleasure.
He is a 'vaisha'.
Through wealth he seeks power,
as money begets money,
power desires more power,
he struggles for his dear ones,
his desires are his responsibilities,
works like a dog on duty,
trying to secure his insecured life,
matured enough to understand the truth,
yet , tries to defend his views,
selfish to the core,
pretends to be loyal,
He now is a true ' Ksatriya'.
When he walks into the flame,
without a blame,
with a smiling face, embrace death,
living memories and tears ,
after his last breath,
with millions to follow him,
for reasons unknown,
like the rats following the pied piper,
He is a Brahmin ,
for he knows the ,
never ending cycle of Brahmand!
O man,
You are an untouchable by chance,
and untouchable by choice,
as ,by birth you are a shudra,
by work a vaisha,
by duty a kshatriya,
and a brahman by noble thoughts!
Life is the shortest distance,
between ignorance and knowledge,
shortest evolution ,
from monkey to monk!

please note - picture from net only for presentation,
it's just a poem inspired by reservation mania that took this nation by storm,

hi, very well written !!!
How many actually understand that Its our 'karma' that defines what we are and not what we are by birth???
