.......of the people ,for the people, by the people!

Can I breed, survive and flourish

Can I dream to achieve

Can I tolerate thirst and hunger?

Yes you can

Said the drop of ink on my finger

You are free to speak, act and think

It’s all you want, you need

Said that drop of ink.

The daily news

of corruption and crime

hammered into my brain

repeatedly like a nursery rhyme

When I see in the court of law
 a million cases pending

Heard and unheard

and find the judiciary bending

to the political power
make me feel
the ink has lost it's color

Martial law, dictatorship

racist, fascist and communist

left a million innocent dead

riots and communalism

raised their ugly head

Humanity is very often burnt alive

Poverty is killed in terrorism

 Make me feel and wonder

If the ink on my finger

has lost its color

I observe and inspect

my index finger

And very often find the ink disappears

But with every election it reappears

The bluish purple drop of ink

It allows me to speak, act and think

For it’s the pathway to my hope

Tells me
 that democracy will survive

all obstacles and slope.
Tells me

force cannot rule a million head

but can create martyrs and bloodsheds
who will again struggle  for

Liberty, fraternity,equality and freedom.

My finger points upwards

to the blue ink spread far and wide
with a sense of pride
it reminds me

True democracy is god's kingdom!

The debate if democracy exist in the truest sense is like asking me if ‘Ram rajya’

Ever existed, to which, my answer is a big NO.

My opinion and belief is that there is nothing called as an everlasting ideal government

Or an ideal ruler, if it had been so, then we would have had many blank pages in the history.

I am very sure and so are you that such a time has never existed

But yes,

Democracy is the only form of government which has survived for few centuries.

It’s because, this form of government may not give the fish but surely helps one to

Learn the art of fishing.

That is it allows an individual to dream though it may not give him an opportunity

to prove his ability.

The basic problem with this system is those who know their duties are interested

In their rights

And the other half of population is not aware of their rights at all!

It’s the quality of the masses we should be interested in knowing, than cursing the

 System.

Literacy, mass awareness, patriotic feeling has to be inculcated and developed

In an individual and allow them to know their duties first.

Today when I visit a police station, government office, or court and run pillar to post

to know the procedure I too blame the system but some where we have to develop

tolerance and yet in certain cases we may need to fight.

but the problem is to distinguish between tolerance and coward ness.

Let us all light the candle than curse the darkness .
