Decision maker. Is that you?

When man was born the supernatural

Being gave him the sword of confidence to fight and

The shield of hope of to defend himself.

One who can’t run with the world will ruin him

So it is the “I” which decides your fate.

Success of a man depends on his ability to decide. Success is right decision at the right time, age, and space. But decisions remain the same and time, age and space change and so does your attitude towards life. What I decided today becomes a wrong one after a decade. Does it happen with me alone is what I can’t answer? But if that could happen to worlds most so called successful people then for a lay man like me its very often.  The same decision, which appears to me right today, is wrong after a certain period of time that is what Bhagwad Gita says the Karma (action) is yours, but the fruit is not. But regrets over any decision are very often in my small and big ones. And all those unsuccessful people make wrong decisions in every big or small circumstance they take, but great personalities (perfectionist) don’t make wrong decisions, they make blunders once in a whole lifetime maintaining the law of average in the great mathematical world called life!

During the great battle of Mahabharata, Pitamaha Bhisma when lying on the bed of arrows was feeling guilty over the vow of not getting married, and protecting the king who sits on the throne of Hastinapur and was regretting over this decision with eyes full of tears. Lord Krishna happened to pass by and saw a tired, old pitamaha lying on the bed of arrows and smiled mysteriously. Seeing this, Pitamaha said, “O Keshav, are you laughing on this plight of mine?” The Almighty said “Not at all, O great pitamaha. Who else can lie on this bed of arrows? But, what make me smile are your regrets over the decisions, which you took in your life. Let me tell you that even if you had not taken the great vow, you would have been still lying on the same bed of arrows because this was meant for you alone”.

In short what I could decide is that “In life, you may choose but the choice is not yours’.
